What You'll Do
Launch your career as a Civil/Structural Engineering CAD Technician apprentice with MJA Consulting in the UK. Earn while you learn with hands-on training and a nationally recognised qualification.- Use a variety of CAD software confidently with a clear understanding of the best way to approach each job.
- Produce detailed engineering layouts and details to enable house builders to build houses on site.
- Support engineers in getting technical approval with statutory bodies to meet legal requirements.
- Complete simple engineering designs including levels and details, carriageway design, external works drawings, conveyance plans, standard details and other engineering tasks as directed.
- Ensure internal processes are followed (e.g. updating drawing issue registers) so that information about jobs can be easily accessed.
- Provide administrative support to the team e.g. printing and folding drawings and document control procedures, enabling engineers to focus on design work.

We offer a complete consultancy service from pre-planning through to completion of sites including a range of civil and structural engineering services and utilities. Our extensive experience in this area means we get to work with many different clients over a range of exciting civil engineering projects.
Future Prospects
Apprentices have the opportunity to continue studying and gain a B.Eng in civil engineering. Some students decide to stay with the business without gaining further qualifications and we are also happy to support this.
